Head of Faculty (English)

Closing date: 1.00 pm, Monday 4th July 2022

As a result of successful staff development and progression, we now have an exciting opportunity to look for our new Head of English. If you absolutely love your subject, have been developing your leadership skills, with a strategic focus aimed at securing the best outcomes for all students, you would be perfect as our next Head of Faculty in English.

You may already be working at faculty leader level, or perhaps this is the next step you have been working towards. Either way, if you are ambitious and are looking ahead to achieving further promotion within a short space of time, for example, Assistant Headship or equivalent, then this is certainly the post for you.

The English team at Northampton School for Girls are a group of highly experienced subject specialists who are passionate and enthusiastic about conveying their love of English to our students. Beyond the classroom we actively encourage students to take part in our highly regarded Spinney Theatre drama performances, the most recent one being Billy Elliot the Musical.

The team are a smashing bunch of professionals and we encourage you to contact them for an informal chat to find out more about what life is like in the faculty.

Northampton School for Girls (NSG) is a state-funded, comprehensive school on the outskirts of Northampton. At NSG you will have access to an outstanding CPD programme, which will enable you to continue to develop and grow as both an excellent teacher and leader. In return, we expect that you will have strong subject knowledge and the ability to provide high-quality teaching; you will be a like-minded individual who will promote our ethos of respect and inclusion for all.

We seek high-quality applications from a wide spectrum of talented people, acknowledging that diversity in our staffing enriches our NSG community and the learning experience for our students.
