Thomas's Fund Charity

About Thomas's Fund

Thomas’s Fund started in 2007 and became a charity in 2008. We provide music therapy across Northamptonshire (at home, in hospital, or as part of continuing care) for children and young people (0-19) with life-limiting illnesses (or life-threatening conditions) and/or a disability which, for medical reasons, means they are too ill to attend school, or an Early Years setting, for extended periods. Pre-school children are assessed on an individual basis. These children are often very isolated and desperately need, or greatly benefit from our support.

One of our Assistant Headteachers, Paul Parker has proudly supported the growth and development of Thomas's Fund since its foundation and he was appointed a trustee in July 2012. Throughout his involvement with the Fund, Northampton School for Girls has supported the charity with resources, facilities, time, and performances. Paul is passionate about the performing arts and the life-changing impact they have on people’s lives, as you can see in Thomas’s Fund videos. Paul wrote the original music ‘Smile’ for the first Thomas’s Fund video which has been performed on three different occasions in Spinney Theatre.
