Exploring teenage behaviours
Being a parent or carer and supporting children and young people to navigate their world can often feel overwhelming and isn’t always easy. Although it’s often fun, amazing and rewarding to watch your children or young people grow, it can also be challenging and sometimes feel like hard work. Things might feel especially difficult if your child or young person is struggling with their stress levels, mood changes or certain stages of their life, however, understanding a little of why and what is happening under the surface may be insightful.
In this workshop we will aim to gain an insight, a deeper awareness and explore supportive strategies surrounding:
- Containment of our teenagers big emotions
- The 3-part teenage brain development (emotional v’s rational)
- Understanding the emotional ‘window of tolerance’ (fight and flight)
- Emotional regulation, dysregulation and co-regulation
Please note this event is aimed towards parents and carers.

1. Booking Fees: Please note that tickets purchased online for events at Spinney Theatre, Northampton School for Girls, may be subject to additional booking fees. These fees contribute to the administrative costs associated with online ticket transactions.
2. Refund Policy: Spinney Theatre strives to be accommodating to our audiences. We are, however, unable to offer refunds on tickets for any reason that is beyond our control. This includes, but is not limited to, unforeseen circumstances such as program alterations, weather conditions, or any other situation deemed outside our control.
3. Ticket Exchanges: Whilst we understand that plans may change, please be aware that we are often unable to facilitate ticket exchanges once a purchase has been completed. We recommend carefully reviewing your selection before finalising your transaction.
4. Event Changes: Spinney Theatre reserves the right to make changes to the event schedule, program, or venue due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of such changes, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate updates to ticket holders through the contact information provided during the booking process.
5. Latecomers Policy: To ensure a seamless experience for all attendees, please be aware that latecomers may be asked to wait for a suitable break in the performance before being admitted to the auditorium.
