Ofsted & Exam Results
In 2006, Ofsted inspected Northampton School for Girls and judged it to be ‘outstanding‘. Whilst the school has continued to grow, develop and evolve (for example, in 2006 the school existed on two sites rather than the single site with the new buildings that we have today) the principles outlined in this report still hold true.
We are proud that the focus on the students’ individual needs, praised in the report, is still at the heart of our work and drives school improvement.
Statements from the commentary include:
‘This school allows you to be yourself and it helps you to achieve excellence’
‘Students are happy and enjoy their time in school. Their commitment is reflected in their willingness to attend and to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.’
‘Achievement and standards are outstanding.’
The overarching statement is ‘This is an outstanding school of which students, parents, staff and governors are rightly proud’.
We are committed to maintaining our status as an outstanding school as this reflects our passion for education and our dedication to the young people entrusted to us. As an outstanding school we are inspected less frequently than other schools, but we do receive ‘interim assessments’ on a regular basis. In an interim assessment, Her Majesty’s Inspectors look at various sources of information, including pupils’ academic performance; pupils’ attendance; and any visits carried out by Ofsted since the last inspection.
A link to our previous Ofsted reports are given below. Please note that due to our change in status (from maintained school to academy) the report section (that refers to the reports previous to academy conversion) states that the school is ‘closed’.
Exam Results 2019
Students and staff at Northampton School for Girls are celebrating another year of successful GCSE and A-Level results. The school is thrilled with the level of performance across the range of subjects.
We are incredibly proud of them all. Though headline results are pleasing, at NSG, we very much focused on the individual results of each of our girls, setting high targets to raise aspiration for all. Behind every set of examination results there is a personal story of hard work, commitment and perseverance and this reaffirms our ethos of ‘respect for self, respect for other and respect for learning’.
