This July, our talented musicians embarked on a remarkable journey to Liège, Belgium, for the NSG Music Tour 2025. The trip took place from Saturday 12 July to Wednesday 16 July and was filled with extraordinary performances, cultural experiences and unforgettable memories.

On Thursday 10 July, Northampton School for Girls came together for one of the most colourful and joyful events in the school calendar. Culture and Identity Day 2025 was a true celebration of the diversity, talent and creativity within our community. The success of the day was made possible through the vision of Miss Holmes and the dedication of staff across the school who worked tirelessly to bring the event to life.
Lunchtime Lectures, Personal Guidance and Ambition in Action
At Northampton School for Girls, preparing students for life beyond the classroom is a vital part of our ethos. Our dedicated Careers Team, led by Ms Harle and Mr Parker, works tirelessly to provide personalised support, meaningful opportunities and real-world insight across all year groups.
Career guidance is a continuous and evolving process at NSG. Throughout the academic year, students in Years 11, 12 and 13, as well as any other student seeking support, can access one-to-one careers meetings. These sessions help students to clarify their goals, explore potential pathways and take practical steps towards their future.
One of the standout features of our careers programme is the highly popular Lunchtime Lectures series. Designed to inspire and inform, these sessions welcome professionals from a range of industries to speak directly with students about their career journeys, challenges and insights.
Pushing Limits and Making Progress
At Northampton School for Girls, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award continues to inspire and challenge students across all year groups. This term, over 120 students are participating in the Bronze, Silver and Gold programmes; all three levels are running concurrently until July.
Northampton School for Girls is committed to supporting every student sitting their GCSEs and A-levels. We understand that this period can be both exciting and demanding. At Northampton School for Girls, we are deeply committed to promoting Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI) within our school community, and our Cue Council plays a key role in ensuring these values are embedded in everything we do. With the new school year underway, we’re excited to share some of the key initiatives our council is focusing on. Our first council meeting has just taken place, and we’ve got some fantastic events lined up.
We are thrilled to share some fantastic news from our school community! Over the summer, one of our exceptional students, Kira, took on the Summer Reading Challenge from the Summer Reading Challenge website—and we are incredibly proud to announce that she was the only student in our school to complete this exciting challenge.
At Northampton School for Girls, we are incredibly proud of our Muriel Clarke Library—a vibrant hub that serves as the heart of our school community. Far more than just a place to borrow books, the library is a dynamic space where creativity, learning, and a sense of calm come together.
Cristina Taboada-Naya, Headteacher, said: “We are incredibly proud of the academic achievements of our Year 11 students this year, which are a testament to their hard work and perseverance. Their teachers and family members will know the unique stories of each of our students and understand precisely how hard they have worked and what they have overcome to achieve the impressive grades they received today. Their excellent results form part of far greater overall achievements for this year group. The strong community we have at NSG is rooted in a culture that encourages students to embrace opportunities of all kinds and, alongside their academic achievements, students and their families praise our extensive extracurricular opportunities as one of our greatest strengths. Activities and events such as our highly reputable musical performances, music ensembles and concerts, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, trips abroad and in the UK, and a vast range of sports teams, help to foster engagement that supports our students’ personal growth and develops their confidence and character.”
"The average grade per GCSE entry continues to be higher than it was prior to the pandemic with outcomes this year continuing to be significantly above average. We saw particularly outstanding individual performances this year from Pious Diya, Phoebe Hy, Anika Chatterjee and Rebecca Waters who averaged Grade 9s in their individual outcomes and whilst all our NSG students celebrate their successes and achievements, we would like to further commend three students who have achieved extraordinarily impressive progress in their examinations. Congratulations to Maria Belocosov, Sarah Matei, Anabella Ruault for demonstrating exceptional progress.”

We are thrilled to share a behind-the-scenes look at a special event that took place at Northampton School for Girls on Monday, 1st July—our very own Election Day! This event was not just a fun activity but an educational experience designed to bring the principles of democracy to life for our students.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of "The Hub," a new inclusion and diversity club at Northampton School for Girls, designed to be a welcoming and inclusive space for all students. Starting next Tuesday, "The Hub" will meet every week during lunchtime in the foyer of the Theatre. This initiative is a collaborative effort by our pastoral care team and dedicated faculty members, aimed at fostering an environment where every student feels valued and heard.
