This July, our talented musicians embarked on a remarkable journey to Liège, Belgium, for the NSG Music Tour 2025. The trip took place from Saturday 12 July to Wednesday 16 July and was filled with extraordinary performances, cultural experiences and unforgettable memories.

Our ensembles, including Madrigalis, Concert Band, Big Band, Tie Rack, Guitar Ensemble and Senior String Orchestra, represented NSG with pride and professionalism. Students gave a series of concerts in beautiful locations such as La Roche en Ardenne, Dinant, and Verviers. Audiences were treated to a rich programme that showcased the talent, hard work and dedication of our young musicians.

The itinerary combined performance with exploration. Students visited landmarks such as La Roche Castle and enjoyed a boat trip on the La Meuse. They experienced the excitement of Walibi Theme Park, and explored the historic cities of Maastricht, La Roche en Ardenne and Dinant. The tour balanced rehearsals, concerts and sightseeing, giving our students the chance to embrace new cultures and traditions while growing as performers.

More than music was shared during the week. Our students supported one another as they tried new foods, encountered new languages and experienced the challenge of being away from home. Their kindness and camaraderie were as impressive as their musicianship, and they were excellent ambassadors for NSG both on and off the stage.

The success of the tour was made possible thanks to the expertise and dedication of our music department. We extend our gratitude to Mr Reid, Mr  Parker and Mrs Holmes, whose leadership inspired outstanding performances throughout. We also thank Ms Henn and Miss Holmes for ensuring that students were safe and well supported throughout the trip.

The tour was organised with the support of One Stage Travel, who previously worked with NSG on the successful 2023 tour to La Rochelle, and we were guided through the cities and during our performances by Joe, who was indispensable! . We are delighted to have continued this partnership, which allowed our students to enjoy a well-structured and enriching international experience.

The NSG Music Tour to Belgium was a celebration of talent, teamwork and resilience. The performances will be remembered for years to come, and the experiences shared have created lasting friendships and treasured memories.
