Lunchtime Lectures, Personal Guidance and Ambition in Action

At Northampton School for Girls, preparing students for life beyond the classroom is a vital part of our ethos. Our dedicated Careers Team, led by Ms Harle and Mr Parker, works tirelessly to provide personalised support, meaningful opportunities and real-world insight across all year groups.

Career guidance is a continuous and evolving process at NSG. Throughout the academic year, students in Years 11, 12 and 13, as well as any other student seeking support, can access one-to-one careers meetings. These sessions help students to clarify their goals, explore potential pathways and take practical steps towards their future.

One of the standout features of our careers programme is the highly popular Lunchtime Lectures series. Designed to inspire and inform, these sessions welcome professionals from a range of industries to speak directly with students about their career journeys, challenges and insights.

At Northampton School for Girls, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award continues to inspire and challenge students across all year groups. This term, over 120 students are participating in the Bronze, Silver and Gold programmes; all three levels are running concurrently until July.

At Northampton School for Girls, we are incredibly proud of our Muriel Clarke Library—a vibrant hub that serves as the heart of our school community. Far more than just a place to borrow books, the library is a dynamic space where creativity, learning, and a sense of calm come together.

"The average grade per GCSE entry continues to be higher than it was prior to the pandemic with outcomes this year continuing to be significantly above average. We saw particularly outstanding individual performances this year from Pious Diya, Phoebe Hy, Anika Chatterjee and Rebecca Waters who averaged Grade 9s in their individual outcomes and whilst all our NSG students celebrate their successes and achievements, we would like to further commend three students who have achieved extraordinarily impressive progress in their examinations. Congratulations to Maria Belocosov, Sarah Matei, Anabella Ruault for demonstrating exceptional progress.”
