“Wonderful success stories”
This year, nearly 200 students sat A-Level and BTEC examinations at Northampton School for Girls. 65% of students achieved at least one A*-B or equivalent grades with our highest ever results in art, dance and history. Special mention go to Erin Porter and Bella Smith who both achieved three A* grades. Erin will go on to the University of Oxford to study Geography and Bella to Warwick to read History. Other successes include Clarrice Adams who achieved two A* and one A grade and Emily Butt and Shanelie Fernandes with one A* and two A grades respectively. The students continuing to maintain the School Sixth Form’s track record of high performance at both A Level and BTEC.
Headteacher Julia Harley said, “I am so proud of our students and their achievements. These are great results and there are so many wonderful success stories that lie beneath these statistics. What impresses me the most is that we are enabling our students to make real and sustained progress in our Sixth Form. They have been given a huge amount of support by their teachers and parents, but the success they have achieved really comes down to them. This reaffirms our strong ethos of ‘respect for self, respect for others and respect for learning’. My biggest pleasure is knowing that so many of these students will now be able to access their chosen destinations, whether that will be university, apprenticeships or a career. I wish them all the best.”
